During the weekend „Bugs: Nature’s Little Superheroes“ received a double award by Naturvision Filmfestival: the Young Jury prize and the German Environment & Nature Film prize.
The Jury declared: „This film follows the path from a small animal to a global alternative, consequently it tells us: it’s time to think big. The film describes his experimental arrangements and offers his knowledge in a very strong way. The jury especially liked the work with graphics and animations that make „Bugs – Nature’s Litlle Superheroes“ an entertaining, informative and stimulating piece of science journalism.
The Youth Jury says: „As a youth council, it’s very important for us to convey the theme of nature and the environment in an entertaining and exciting way to the young generations, so we decided to award a film that does exactly so. This film, which combines the themes of biology and technology, does not even come under the banner of bionics, which fascinated scientists who are looking for solutions to current social problems in the animal world by examining small creatures. We are pleased to announce that the winner of the „Young Jury“ is the film „Bugs – Nature’s Little Superheroes“ („Insekten – Superhelden auf sechs Beinen“ ), which is an important contribution to the development of insects such as ants and silkworms for the fields of logistics and plastic substitutes.

Parks are the gems of our cities. They are sanctuaries for nature, people, and culture. Three directors explore Europe’s most beautiful city parks, to discover a fresh new look at these urban oases. Each film is shot over the course of an entire year and merges stunning aerial photography with portraits of extraordinary people whose lives are connected to the parks.
We start our trip with director Christian Schidlowski in the Jardin des Tuileries, one of the big inner-city parks of Paris where people, who live in the centre, like to enjoy this example of classical French garden architecture amidst the stony splendour of their city. The Parisian episode also shows the audience another park, the Jardin du Luxembourg: the perfect mixture of natural and geometrical shapes – where English and French garden styles are united.
Rome, the „eternal city“ cradles in its centre Villa Borghese, the third largest public park in the city. This green lung, once outside of the city walls, nowadays represents the downtown open space where students, tourists and Roman citizen spend their time laying on the grass, go for a run or just simply wander aimlessly appreciating the quietness. With every scene we watch the changing seasons following four different people‘ stories bound directly or indirectly to the park.
The Englischer Garten in Munich, one of the largest inner city parks in the world (even larger than New York’s Central Park) is the perfect example of an english garden – an informal landscape. The cinematic journey starts in spring, observing diverse ways the park is experienced by the inhabitants, ending as in the best fairy-tales in winter when the park welcomes the first snow.
As the first tender buds bloom in spring, we begin our expedition through one of Europe’s most unique parks – Stockholm’s Royal National Park, the world’s first inner-city national park. Directed by Sebastian Kentner, the audience will be immersed in its immense size of almost 30 square kilometres, its wild nature and diverse landscapes, its old oak forests, its beautiful coasts and lakes that attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
In London, it’s on Hannah Leonie Prinzler to lead the camera through two of the most famous parks in the world: The Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. The journey begins in the Speakers Corner, a democratic open space where the British capital shows off its colorful and multicultural life. Combining exceptional aerial photography with lovingly observed, often funny and quirky encounters with people in and around the park, this film offers a unique perspective of two of the world’s most beautiful urban oases, that together form Londons green Lung.
The KINDERHILFE NEPAL e.V. was founded in 1986.
This year marks their 30th anniversary.
We are extremely proud to help the cause by providing the music score for their anniversary movie. Edda Wolf, mind and soul of the project, started supporting children of a poor peasant family in the Himalayan region. Quickly it developed into a major aid project in order to support children and young people from socially disadvantaged families, to create an independent life. Its main aim is to sustain future prospects through regulated education and training. The annual inspection guarantees the implementation of all the projects.
Currently they follow the „Thangka Painting School“ meant for young monks it is located in Lukla/Himalaya. Founded in 1997 it contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage in the Sherpa country. Because of the „westernisation“ this culture is paying an immense price for multiculturalism. The association’s aim is to contribute to the preservation of Tibetan Buddhist culture, raising awareness about this urgent situation. Himalayan region Lukla is the starting point for most treks in the high mountains near Mount Everest. Tourism is the sector that generates one of the highest employment opportunities in the country. The saddest part is that Nepal itself has been unsuccessful in promoting these outstanding landmarks sustainably. The additional idea of this project is to combine cultural spread with the chance to earn and live of tourism. This school gives the opportunity to make old traditions alive again through teaching of ancient Tibetan Buddhist paintings. As Thangka painters and taught in western languages such as English, young monks can help to spread their country’s culture to visitors and ensure the safety of their families.
In addition, the association opened two nursery school in Kathmandu and in Dharmasthali. The latter has been moved to a new place because of the earthquake in April 2015; nowadays in this place toddlers aged one to three years are part-time supervised. In this way their mothers have the opportunity to catch up with their missed education without domestic charge.
By now, 350 children and young people are being financed for school and vocational education in private training centers. We believe in this project. We believe in its good operation for Nepal, a country understimated and undermined by stakeholders.
To support the project follow the link on KINDERHILFE NEPAL e.V. Stay tuned for more information about the movie and our musical contribution.
Five months ago The White King had its glorious World Premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. Since then it collected great reviews. Brave and unusual, the movie had a huge impact on the audience. People commented about „it is not just a „must see“ but a „must see again movie„“. Fascinating the audience and the critic, we are very proud to have taken part in this amazing project.

After being selected as Best Science & Knowledge Project by Sunny Side pitching sessions in 2015, the project is taking shape. a&o buero film production gmbh is one of Germany’s most acclaimed documentary film production companies. This is a remarkable science documentary. It shows us the importance of knowing the microcosm. Tiny bugs are the actual heros.
While waving your hand trying to kick a flea out of your pasta bowl or making a face spraying ants from your plants, have you considered that one living creature might be amazingly much more ingenious then you?
The specular eye of custom-made cameras closely observe this little world; by using special filming techniques taking us deep inside into the unknown everyday life of bugs.
We are following the quest of three researchers and their individual research object. Their aim it is to learn from the tricks of these little aliens. Studying and analyzing them, we don’t even imagine how many new solutions they „offer“ to our problems.
The movie jumps from one continent to another, from a ladybird drop of blood to a silk moth. Step by step we discover how strong they are, how many materials they can generate to protect their bodies and how these three brilliant men lead researches to solve medicine´s pressing problems as well as our dependency on oil.
By way of conclusion, this documentary is a breathtaking journey; our team is proud to be part of it.
Our team is proud to work on a new project.
Produced by Taglicht Media, „The Borderless Sky“ is the upcoming documentary project broadcasted as a 5 part ARTE documentary series and cinema documentary about the „world’s highest ceiling“. In five adventures stories, photographers travel to Canada, Australia, Scandinavia, Indonesia and Chile. This is the story of their mission: to remind us that we all live together under an infinite roof. The question is: When was the last time you looked up to feel it?
Five photographers (amongst them: Babak A. Tafreshi, Bernd Pröschold and Yuichi Takasaka featured at The World At Night) use hi-tech cameras to challenge extreme climates and unexplored panoramas. They collect untold pictures and astonishing timelapse footage in order to create a bridge between art, humanity, and science.
After receiving the support of the Creative Europe Programme – MEDIA of the European Union, the project is in post-production and we are currently composing the music and we will take the audio post production in the next couple of months.
We are happy to contribute with music score to this brilliant documentary project which enchants us with its poetic vision of five dreamers and their quest. Their bravery will let the audience participate in an incredible trip of discovery and surprise. It fascinates us with remote landscapes where the sky demonstrates majestic movements.

Best-selling author and kolumnist Wladimir Kaminer is giving a reading about his most recent book „Das Leben ist (k)eine Kunst“ (in English: „Live Is(n’t) Art“) at Kulturhaus Keitum this Friday, August 14th 2015! Amongst Wladimir’s greatest works were the short story series „Russendisko“ which were originally published in the year 2000 and picturized later by Oliver Ziegenbalg, Arthur Cohn and Christoph Hahnheiser. The score music was composed and produced by Lars Löhn, who received great criticism by the German newspaper „Frankfurter Allgemeine“ for instance, who wrote that “ (…) the authentic soundtrack was particularly persuasive.“
With this being said, we are excited to find out what Wladimir’s most recent work is about and we urge you to not miss this event, in case you are spending this year’s holiday on the beautiful island of Sylt.
Within the scope of our current pitch for a british feature film drama, Lars got together with theatre musician Tobias Vethake for a weekend studio session.

Animation Score by L&L – The playmobil inspired series „Super 4“ has started airing on the Disney Channel.
The animation score for the 52-part series was composed by the team of LUDWIG & LOEHN.
“Super 4,” is a new CGI series inspired by respected toymaker Playmobil. The popular toy line is about to come alive in Germany. It was first seen in France in August 2014, and launched soon after that in the U.K., Italy and Latin America. Besides the renowned Disney Channel, more than 20 channels worldwide, added „Super 4″ including the animation score of L&L to their daily program.
The series will follow the fun adventures of Alex the Knight, Ruby the Pirate, Agent Gene and Twinkle the Fairy. The four main heroes travel through a variety of worlds and explore distinct island communities to defeat evil and save the day. The show draws inspiration from not just Playmobil figures and themes, but also the imaginative adventures that can be explored through these toys, and the important lessons these adventures demonstrate: values such as teamwork, honesty, strength, respect and more…
The production of season 2 of „Super 4“ will start in the upcoming months, containing again Ludwig & Loehn’s animation score. Besides that these new characters will also be going the way of their Lego counterparts. Playmobil has confirmed it is currently developing a feature-length film. There are plans for a Playmobil feature film, expected to be released worldwide in 2017. The content and details of these plans are still under development, but we are looking forward to this added expansion to the toy line and our animation scores.
But for now: tune in, daily at 5:34 p.m. to get a glimpse of the adventures of Ruby the pirate, Alex the knight, Twinkle the fairy and Agent Gene!
A year later, Tiny Tales had become so popular amongst it’s 17.000 followers, that the German Newspaper Die Welt started featuring the short stories in their content.
Now, almost 6 years later, it appears that a thief stole the book that was kept by the newspaper’s editiorial staff to keep track of which stories had been published and which hadn’t been forcing Tiny Tales to an end…
What a pity! We will miss you, Tiny Tales.
Documentary score by L&L – Jeremy Fekete and Interscience Film’s great 5-part documentary series „Castles and Palaces of Europe“ is back airing on various channels on TV!
No other part of the world beast as many castles and palaces as Europe. A breath-taking aerial view leads you through the palaces and summer residences, built by Kinds and Princes in the most beautiful and strategically located spots.
„Castles and Palaces of Europe“ is a 5-party documentary series by director Jeremy Fekete in collaboration with well-respected director and producer Gero von Boehm. The documentary score was composed by the team of LUDWIG & LOEHN.
The series is covering 5 different regions, known for their stunning Castle – and Palace – architecture in Europe. Among these are:
Loire – France
Baden Württemberg – Germany
Southengland – GB
Piemont – Italy
Estremadura – Portugal
Lars Loehn and his team composed the documentary score to every Episode, certainly covering the typical music styles and containing music based on the traditional songs and tracks representing these particular regions. For the documentary score of the 5 x 51’min series L&L used mainly orchestral music with an interesting „David Fincher – like“ dark sound and at the same time rich tonality.
Director Jeremy Fekete won the ”SILVER WORLD MEDAL 2014″ at the New York Festivals for the entire Series. Besides that we are excited to say that we are currently working on the documentary score for a similar series, called „European Parks“ along with director Christian Schidlowski. As Schidlowski is a longtime partner, „European Parks„, presumably broadcasted in 2016, will be his 5th cooperation with the team of Ludwig & Loehn. Amongst others, L&L provided the documentary score for his series „Treasures of South East Asia“ and „Coasts of Germany„.

Commercial Music – The Midttrafik spot „The Bus“ was played more than 4 million times on Youtube!
In cooperation with the Danish bus-company „Midttrafik“, well known for their successful commercials, Lars and his team composed the commercial music to one of their spots. „The Bus“ gained over 4 million views on youtube.
With this campaign the Thomas Falkenberg Agency and M2Film – Production aimed to change the general view of Midttrafik and in fact riding the bus has never been cooler. In the past years the blue Danish buses from Midttrafik have driven all around the world, and with more than 4 million views on YouTube the commercial has proved a great viral success. Besides from the successful 90 seconds commercial the Midttrafik campaign consists of various content for TV, web, social and radio as well as event films and behind the scenes footage – all done as a 360 degree integrated production.
The commercial music, with its Hollywood blockbuster-sound contra punctually underlines the irony of this everyday transportation system. Composing the commercial music for „The Bus“ was the 6th collaboration between Director Marc Raymond Wilkins an Ludwig & Loehn. Besides putting Wilkin’s short film „Twilight“ to music. Lars Loehn also made the commercial music for his Spot „Father and Son“ for the Ukrainian mobile operator Kyivstar, for a T-Mobile spot „Bungee“ as well as for the beautiful „Raiffeisenbank“ commercial.
